Essential oils are one of nature’s gifts to our health. Therapeutic grade oils are very concentrated and amazingly only take a drop or two to impart their healing values. Essential oils can be used in many ways. My favorite ways include diffusion, inhalation, massage, and in baths.
To diffuse an essential oil most effectively, you need to have a diffuser. The most efficient diffuser is an atomizing diffuser which breaks up the essential oil into tiny particles and casts them into the air. The diffuser I use is by aroma-ace and you can find it here. A good diffuser will allow you to set intervals of running time so you can breathe in goodness throughout the day!
Inhaling essential oils can be done using a nebulizer, or my preferred and simplest method, a facial steam. Simply pour hot water into a bowl, add a drop of essential oil, and cover your head and bowl with a towel. Close your eyes and inhale the delicious steam!
The other two ways of using essential oils are fairly self-explanatory. When using them in massage, make sure to dilute a drop or two in a bit of olive, coconut, or other oil. For a bath, add 3-5 drops and swish it around before climbing in to enjoy.
